Community Spotlight: Guardian on the Go
Hello everyone and welcome to our first community spotlight! Once every week or two we will be using our platform to highlight businesses that have done something impressive or innovative during the pandemic. Today's post highlights Guardian on the Go, a reusable mask company started here in Louisville. Read below to learn more!
Guardian on the Go is a local initiative founded by Mia Mercer in order to help promote public health through the use of masks while reserving single-use surgical masks for medical front liners tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. Severe shortages of masks as a result of the coronavirus have left medical professionals with makeshift masks, endangering themselves, their coworkers, and their families.
The CDC, Center for Disease Control, has issued a precautionary statement recommending all citizens to wear masks while in public: many patients are asymptomatic - yet contagious.
Each mask is upcycled from old scrubs, washable and reusable! $10 each.
100% of all profits will be donated to aid research, communities, and hospitals. You can buy your mask and get in touch via the social links below and the website.
