Week In Review - 3/21 - 3/27
Updated: Apr 3
This week has been filled with lots of information, changes, and adjustments for the Louisville community. Here in this write up we bring to you a condensed version of relevant news to keep you updated in an efficient fashion. "Week In Review"s will be published every Friday after Governor Andy Beshear addresses the state.
Total Confirmed Cases: 302
New Cases Today (3/27): 54
Notes from Beshear:
Tonight in Andy Beshear's address to the state he started as he always does: a sympathetic message to his people "We are in this together". He also expressed his pride in Kentuckians and the strong stance they are taking against this virus. An important quote Beshear pointed out in his introduction was this, "When no one can see the future, the only thing you can do is the next right thing." This quote is something we choose to embody with everything we do with Unify Louisville, and we encourage our readers to do the same.
A big change that Beshear announced is the closing of public playgrounds and courts across the state. This is due to the lack of social distancing around these areas. He then brought up his largely referenced Philadelphia vs St. Louis map to emphasize that we must continue to "dig in" and prepare to continue to make sacrifice's to make sure we don't allow our cases to escalate.
Although he announced 54 new cases today, Beshear wants to note that this is significantly less than most other states and that KY is doing a good job. He also announced the tax due date will be postponed until July and the state's primaries will also be postponed until June 23rd.
